Open Letter to the Membership of the
Management and Organizational Cognition Division
of the Academy of Management

June 2024

 This year, the MOC division embarked upon its first three-year strategic review under the new Division and Interest Group guidelines from the Academy of Management. Prior to this year, the division had undergone division reviews every 5 years, resulting in a report made available to division leaders to be used as a guideline for future action.

 We are happy to announce that the Academy of Management board has renewed the MOC division for another three years! As part of the strategic review process, we are making the five-page strategic plan available to our membership. Please feel free to take a look!

What does the plan entail?

1.      An executive summary that briefly reviews the financial and membership state of the division.

2.      A set of strategic goals and activities that will provide the guide for your executive leadership team for the coming three years. This plan will be a “living document” that will be revised and edited each year to reflect our ongoing endeavors to make sure that MOC is serving its membership well.

3.      Innovations that MOC is proud to share with you and other DIGs. These are things we feel we do extraordinarily well. We could not do these things without our amazing executive committee and our engaged membership. So thank you!

The board of AOM has provided us with feedback about our report and suggestions for meeting our goals. Your executive committee team will be jumping right in to these plans in Chicago. In the coming weeks we will be sharing with you all our favorite events to look forward to at AOM 2024. We hope to see you all there!
