Dear MOC community,
The MOC division is thrilled to announce that our 2019 Distinguished Scholar recipient is Professor Neal Ashkanasy of the University of Queensland. Prof. Ashkanasy's research on leadership, organizational culture, ethics, cognition and emotions in organizations has been instrumental in shaping the field of managerial and organizational cognition. His work has been published in leading journals including the Academy of Management Journal and Review, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, and the Journal of Applied Psychology. Like our previous distinguished scholar recipients, Prof. Ashkanasy epitomizes the developmental nature of the division. He has been a mentor to many, and shaped scholarship through his many editorial roles for Emotion Review,Journal of Organizational Behavior, Academy of Management Review and Academy of Management Learning and Education). Prof. Ashkanasy is a Fellow of the Academy for the Social Sciences in the UK (AcSS) and Australia (ASSA); the Association for Psychological Science (APS); the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP); Southern Management Association (SMA), and the Queensland Academy of Arts and Sciences (QAAS). In 2017, he was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia.
