    The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is a government-funded tertiary institution in Hong Kong. It offers programmes at various levels including Doctorate, Master's and Bachelor's degrees. It has a full-time academic staff strength of around 1,200. The total annual consolidated expenditure budget of the University is in excess of HK$7.6 billion.

    Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management

    The Department of Management and Marketing (MM) is one of the constituent departments of the Faculty of Business, which contains 170+ faculty members. The University is committed to high-quality research and has recently launched a strategic hiring initiative. For instance, the Presidential Young Scholars Scheme provides successful applicants with research support of not less than 3 million HK dollars (equivalent to US$380K) for the first three years of appointment. Our compensation package is globally competitive and includes a generous allowance for housing purpose.

    The faculty members in the Management discipline of MM regularly publish their research in top-tier journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Organization Behavior and Human Decision Processes and other premier outlets. The University of Texas at Dallas ranks our faculty's research 63th in the world and 6th in Asia (March 2022). We also have a serious PhD program and recent placements of our students include institutions such as Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Renmin University, and Deakin University. Our research support includes reduced teaching load in the first three years, a generous start-up grant, and minimum administrative services.     The appointee will be required to (a) engage in top-level scholarly research in their areas of expertise; (b) supervise research students; (c) secure external competitive research grants; (d) teach at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels; and (e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.

    Applicants should have an earned doctoral degree at the time of appointment or be close to receiving it.

    Preference will be given to those with a focused research orientation and the potential or demonstrated ability to publish in high quality scholarly journals.

    Conditions of Service

    The compensation package, teaching loads, and research support are highly competitive. Initial appointment for Assistant Professor will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. An appropriate term will be provided for appointment at Associate Professor / Professor levels.
