The Managerial and Organizational Cognition (MOC) Division invites proposals for small conferences and events aligned with our division's developmental spirit and global reach. These gatherings may be branded as part of our In the Rough or Entrepreneurial Cognition series (e.g., MOC in the Rough: SMU, Entrepreneurial Cognition in the Rough: Melbourne) or named creatively by the organizers to reflect their theme and tone.
This initiative is experimental and intended to support a small number of community-driven events that provide space for collaboration, networking, and the exchange of ideas. These should not be large-scale academic conferences. We encourage formats such as research retreats, idea incubators, paper development roundtables, doctoral workshops, or regional symposia.
Resources
To help you plan your event, please download below the MOC Guidelines for Hosting Small Conferences and Events. This document provides useful planning suggestions around budgeting, programming, logistics, and outreach. While not mandatory, we encourage organizers to consult the document during the proposal stage.
