DIR
Diamonds in the Rough PDW
Overview
DIR offers early-stage, career-based content for emerging scholars across methodologies and research areas. MOC prides itself in being a ‘bridging division’ and we consider DIR the ultimate opportunity to build intra- and inter-divisional mentoring networks in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Who?
DIR welcomes junior faculty who are in their first three years on the job, post-docs, and doctoral students who are in their final two years.
In-person session
The in-person session at the meeting (open to all, no registration required) will feature stories about how prominent scholars forged their paths, advice on how to best navigate your own, and networking opportunities among colleagues with similar goals.
The topic of the DIR is TBA
Personalised feedback sessions (registration required)
Registrants will be paired with an influential scholar and 2–3 other registrants for a friendly chat and feedback on their individual portfolios. These personalised sessions may be held in person at the meeting or virtually before or after the conference at the convenience of the facilitating scholar and their designated registrants.
Participants who complete this session receive an MOC division “Bright Diamonds” certificate.
