The Managerial and Organizational Cognition Division of the Academy of Management is offering a unique opportunity to progress your writing in MOC-relevant topics. If you have a research project, particularly if you have reached a point where you are stuck and looking for advice for how to advance it, we invite you to apply to participate.

Similar to the popular "Cognition in the Rough" event at the annual meeting, this event will workshop in-progress papers. Each author-participant will read and give developmental feedback/friendly reviews on each of the other submissions. The group will meet virtually via Skype for a two-hour session, with 30-45 minutes to discuss and provide suggestions for each paper. The reviewing circle will comprise up to 4 papers with one experienced facilitator. For the October 2017 session, our Senior Scholar will be Professor Heather Vough:

Heather Vough is an Associate Professor of Management. She received her PhD in Organizational Behavior from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Heather's research interests revolve around how individuals construct meaning and identity within their organizational and professional contexts. In her research, she primarily uses qualitative methods and has performed research in a variety of settings including an architecture firm, a call center, an international security organization, and a radio station. Heather's work has been published in the Academy of Management Journal, the Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, and Organization Science, among others. In addition, she is a member of five Editorial Boards including the Academy of Management Review and the Academy of Management Journal.

Heather is best-placed to help progress papers with qualitative methods and those on identity, careers, sensemaking, and proactivity; however, all applications will be considered.
