FOR: Visiting Professor, Teaching Fellow, and Lecturer
IN: Strategy, Organizational Behavior or Entrepreneurship
The Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park
invites applications and nominations for faculty positions as follows:
* Visiting Professor in Strategic Management: : Teach a doctoral
seminar + two additional courses – possibility of continued permanent
appointment -- preference for 2 semester visit, but open to 1 semester
visit -- capacity to add to research mission of the school, desire to
work with junior faculty and doctoral students.
* Visiting Professor in Organization Behavior: Teach 3 sections of
UG cross cultural management, or MBA electives (Negotiations or
Organizational Change) or other courses depending upon individual’s
interests -- possibility of continued permanent appointment --
preference for 2 semester visit, but 1 semester visit possible --
capacity to add to research mission of the school, desire to work with
junior faculty and doctoral students.
* Tyser Teaching Fellow in Strategy or Organizational Behavior:
Teach 6-8 sections per year, depending upon compensation and service
responsibilities. Able to teach global strategy, and either Industry and
Competitor Analysis or Implementing Strategy, or, entrepreneurship and
innovation, or, OB and HR courses, at the MBA/EMBA level. Evidence of
teaching quality is most important qualification. This position is a
full time faculty position, specializing in teaching and service. PhD or
other terminal degree required.
* Lecturer in Strategy or Organizational Behavior: Teach 6-8
sections per year, depending upon compensation and service
responsibilities. UG courses in global strategy and capstone strategy
course, or, Leadership in Organizations, Introduction to Management, and
Cross-Cultural Management, also an occasional MBA course such as
Industry and Competitor Analysis or Implementing Strategy. Evidence of
teaching quality is most important qualification. An individual hired
as a Lecturer could develop over time and be promoted to Tyser Teaching
Fellow, and, an individual with the right credentials could eventually
be promoted to Professor of the Practice. PhD or other terminal degree
required.
