University of Kansas seeking Doctoral Student Applicants in Strategy,
Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management.
The School of Business at the University of Kansas (KU) is seeking
qualified applicants for the doctoral program in Management to begin
Fall 2006. We anticipate enrolling a small cohort of students in
Strategy, Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, which
are the three specializations offered by the KU Management faculty. The
KU School of Business Ph.D. Program is for full-time, on-campus students
who wish to become scholars in their discipline. All students are
supported with financial aid through research assistantships,
fellowships and teaching.
Doctoral students are taught, supervised by, and have the opportunity to
work collegially and closely with a research-active Management faculty
including Ronald Ash, Vince Barker, Melissa Birch, Tailan Chi, James
Guthrie, David Hoopes, Dennis Karney, Jill Kleinberg, Charles Krider,
Jeong-Yeon (Jay) Lee, Kenneth Mackenzie, Renate Mai-Dalton, Douglas May,
Joseph Reitz, Catherine Schwoerer, Daniel Spencer, Feirong Yuan, and
Jane Zhao. This faculty group has a wide range of research interests in
various aspects of strategy, organizational behavior, human resource
management and international management.
The University of Kansas is a Carnegie I Research University located in
Lawrence, Kansas (population: near 100,000 people) approximately 50
miles from Kansas City. Lawrence has been rated as one of the best
places to live in the United States because of its quality of life,
including a vibrant arts community, good schools, recreational
opportunities and overall diversity as a college town. The School of
Business at KU is growing with the addition of 14 new faculty members in
the last year.
Admission to the KU School of Business Ph.D. Program is competitive with
only a handful of students admitted for Fall, 2005. Interested students
