| Social evaluations research has investigated a host of constructs such as stigma, celebrity, legitimacy, reputation, and status. While many studies have nodded to the notion of the related yet distinct nature of these constructs, empirical investigation into these differences has been limited. At the same time, processes concerning social evaluations at the macro and micro levels are often siloed, limiting dialogue about how processes at the macro level affect those at the micro level and vice versa. In this panel symposium we bring together social evaluations researchers to incite rich dialogue about cross-construct and cross-level relationships. Overall, we aim to spark stimulating discussion about the challenges and opportunities of conducting research on social evaluations and to motivate and empower attendees in such a way that they feel well-equipped to engage in such research. |
