Hatching new ideas through conversation:
A research incubator on positive relationships at work
Friday, August 4 from 11:15 a.m. – 2:15 p.m. in the Hilton Atlanta, Crystal Ballroom B, E
Are you working on research related to positive relationships at work? If so, do you want...
• Intimate discussions on a research idea with leading scholars of positive relationships at work?
• Feedback on your theoretical framing?
• Guidance on analyzing or writing-up your data?
• Insight into how to approach measuring relationships at work?
"Hatching new ideas through conversation: A research incubator on positive relationships at work" is a three-hour workshop intended to provide scholars conducting research on positive relationships at work with focused feedback from experienced relationships researchers. The session will include intimate discussions (2 participants to every 1 facilitator) customized to participants' specific research projects.
We are fortunate to have the following scholars with extensive experience in research positive relationships at work: Shelley Brickson, Amy Colbert, Rick Cotton, Stephanie Creary, Jody Hoffer Gittell, Jason Kanov, Jessica Methot, Mandy O'Neill, Elizabeth Rouse, Kira Schabram, David Sluss, JP Stephens, Michele Williams, Kristina Workman, Jeffrey Yip, Jelena Zikic.
In order to participate in this workshop, individuals are required to submit a 1,000 word (max) in-depth description of a current research project. Submissions will be used to help match participants with facilitators based on facilitator methodological expertise and common theoretical interests. Submissions should be sent to
posrelatatwork.pdw@gmail.com and include the following:
• 3-4 keywords that capture your topic and method
• Your research question(s) and theoretical framing
• A description of the methods being used (qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods) and rationale for use
• The stage your research project you anticipate being in at the time of the Academy Meeting (ex., study design, data collection, data analysis, manuscript development)
• What aspect(s) of the project you most hope to receive feedback on during the session and why
Our workshop is limited to 32 participants. We will begin reviewing submissions on June 15, and submissions will be reviewed and accepted in the order received. Any remaining submissions will be added to the waitlist. Once you have been admitted to the session, a registration code will be emailed to you.
