Submission Deadline June 20th!
It's the 16th Annual Reviewing in the Rough!!!
Reviewing in the Rough is a two-hour two-part workshop taking place at this year's Academy of Management Annual Meeting on Friday, July 31st, 2026, 1-3pm.
In the first part of the workshop, which is open to all, participants will have an opportunity to gain key insights about the review process and quality reviewing through engaging presentations from prior editors' and authors' perspectives.
In the second part of the workshop, participants who complete their own reviews of an Administrative Science Quarterly original submission prior to the conference will receive feedback on these from experienced scholars in interactive small-group sessions. Participants will learn exclusive background information about the original submission from the author himself, along with the actual reviews of his team's original submission and how they helped shape the final manuscript.
This is the 15th year of RIR and we are thrilled to have many outstanding scholars participating including: Michael Baer, Ashley Hardin, Spencer Harrison, Beth Schinoff, Blaine Landis, Esther Sackett, Frist Pil, Jonathan Kush, Jordan Nielsen, Michele Williams, Ravi Kudesia, Stephanie Creary, and Valeria Alterman.
Who?
Doctoral students and junior faculty who wish to work on their reviewing skills.
What?
To reserve your spot for Part 2 of the PDW, please complete the following steps:
- Complete this Qualtrics survey and choose to attend both Part 1 and Part 2, to request a copy of the manuscript.
- You will then receive the manuscript to review. Complete a formal review of this manuscript (i.e., approximately two single-spaced pages).
- E-mail your completed review to j.zhu@rsm.nl with the Subject line "RIR Review completed".
- If your review is accepted, we will send you a confirmation email.
Please note that spots in Part 2 of the workshop will be allotted to the first 30 doctoral students and junior faculty members who submit completed reviews before June 20th, 2026. Please reach out early as spots tend to fill up quickly!
