"Decisions facing Government and Business are often complex with relevant information missing or outcomes not imagined until too late. Such real-world contexts place strong constraints on when and how to use modelling techniques with safety. It becomes vital to appreciate new knowledge about how humans have evolved to cope. This meeting will examine the current knowledge landscape and explore cross-disciplinary research opportunities. The CRUISSE (Challenging Radical Uncertainty in Science Society and the Environment )research network (of which I am a founding member) is organising a conference in collaboration with the Royal Society in the UK on Confronting Radical Uncertainty.
