Experimental Methods in Social Network Research PDW
    Sunday, August 2 | 10:00 AM–1:00 PM
    Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown, Ballroom South

Open to all AOM attendees. To join the roundtable waitlist or submit a question for the panel, please fill out the form here. Thank you!

How can experiments advance social network research? What kinds of network questions can be studied experimentally - and how do you design, run, and publish such studies? This PDW offers hands-on guidance from research design to the review process, with a lineup that has held editorial roles at ASQ, AMJ, AMR, JPSP, Management Science, and Organization Science.

10:00–11:10 - Research showcases: four experimental network studies, from laboratory to field

    • Presenters: Stefano Tasselli, Sheen S. Levine, Nir Halevy, Sameer B. Srivastava

    11:10–11:55 - Small-group roundtables (roundtable pre-registered participants)

12:00–13:00 - Panel discussion: where network research is heading, and how to publish experimental work

    • Panelists: Ronald S. Burt, Adam M. Kleinbaum, Martin Kilduff, Jill Perry-Smith

Note: the running order differs from the AOM program abstract - research showcases open the session, and the senior panel closes it.
