Have you ever wondered how and whether to incorporate diversity and inequality in your research? Come join us for a panel and roundtable session on When, how, and why scholars "foreground," "background," or "drop" diversity and inequality when moving from real-world observations to research accounts in their papers and publications.

    When: Saturday, Aug 5, 3pm to 5pm

    Where: Park Plaza, Newbury Room

Leading scholars Sarah Kaplan (University of Toronto), Sanaz Mobasseri (Boston University), Damon J. Phillips (U. of Pennsylvania) and Lakshmi Ramarajan (Harvard Business School) will share their experiences as they try to address these questions. The panel will be moderated by Kyle Dobson (The University of Texas At Austin)

The workshop will include a plenary discussion and multiple opportunities for participants to share their questions and observations. Questions will include:

    • What challenges, pushback, and missed opportunities do scholars face when trying to include diversity in their papers and research?
    • What are authors' experiences when trying to publish research that includes a diversity component?
    • What are editors' views on positioning such research?

We will reflect on how to move forward individually and collectively to advance the integration of diversity and inequality in management research.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Co-organizers: Vanessa Conzon, Audrey Holm and Mary Struzska-Tyamayev
