Dear MOC PhD Students and recent graduates,
We're thrilled to share that the MOC Division's peer mentoring program (MOC-UP) for PhD students and recent graduates, is kicking off its next round in 2025!
MOC-UP is a way for junior scholars to come together, talk, and share advice on navigating the PhD journey. It operates on the principles of peer mentoring, aiming to establish positive, empowering, and inclusive environments where participants can ask questions, share strategies, and collaborate on problem-solving. The program is designed to be flexible and not overly demanding on participants' time, allowing individuals and their mentor/mentee pairs to determine the extent of their engagement. When you register, you can choose between traditional one-to-one mentoring or joining a mentoring group.
For the purpose of MOC-UP, we expect that mentees will be in the earlier stages of their programs, and mentors will be in the later stages (e.g., PhD candidates or recent graduates).
Don't miss this opportunity and register now for MOC-UP, either as a mentee or mentor:
Sign-ups will remain open until March 20th (17:00 ET GMT-5/UTC-5), at which point we will match mentees and mentors and email participants to let them know their pairings. The kick-off event will happen virtually on March 31st (10:00 ET GMT-5/UTC-5).
Note: While we are planning a MOC-UP event for the AOM Annual Meeting, rest assured that you don't need to be attending the Annual Meeting this year to sign up.
If you have any questions about MOC-UP, please feel free to reach out to us directly.
Best,
Molly Weinstein, Alina Gerlach & Angela Ianniello
