    THE UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS SCHOOL OF BUSINESS INVITES APPLICANTS FOR 3 TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR FACULTY POSITIONS:

    OVERVIEW
    The Management Area of the School of Business at the University of Kansas is searching for three Assistant Professors inHuman Resources/Organizational Behavior for the 2021-2022 academic year. We seek candidates with research interests in Human Resources or Organizational Behavior broadly defined, including those that may intersect the two domains and/or extend into the area of international management. 

    These are full-time, tenure-track positions with a start date of August 18, 2021. Application review begins January 8, 2021 and will continue until the positions are filled.

    The Management Area comprises Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, Behavioral Ethics, Strategy, International Business, and Entrepreneurship. Faculty include Vince Barker, Melissa Birch, Clint Chadwick, Niki den Nieuwenboer, Jill Ellingson, Minyoung Kim, Jun-Ho Lee, Scott Mitchell, Chang Hoon Oh, and Jane Zhao.

    Faculty are research active publishing in top-tier management journals such as Journal of Applied Psychology, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Perspectives, Organization Science, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Journal of International Business Studies. The Management Area currently supports doctoral programs in Human Resource Management and Strategy. The Area comes together for a weekly professional development workshop series designed to engage faculty and doctorate students by supporting a positive research climate.

    The University of Kansas is the flagship state-sponsored university of the State of Kansas, with world-class competencies in a wide variety of fields. The KU School of Business has been educating students and creating business leaders since 1924. In May 2016, the school moved into the $70.5 million, 166,500-square-foot Capitol Federal Hall. The school offers multiple undergraduate and masters-level graduate programs (Full-Time MBA, MBA for Working Professionals, online MBA, Master of Accounting, Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, MSB in Supply Chain Management/Logistics, and MSB in Business Analytics), taught on KU's main campus in Lawrence, and our satellite campuses in Kansas City (Overland Park) and Leavenworth.     DUTIES
    40%     Teach a combination of required and/or elective courses in Human Resources/Organizational Behavior at the undergraduate, master's and/or doctoral levels.
    40%     Conduct and publish research on Human Resources/Organizational Behavior in leading academic journals. 
    20%     Engage in area, school, university, and professional service activities.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    1. A Ph.D. in Human Resources, Organizational Behavior or closely-related field (must be earned by August 18, 2021).
    2. Demonstrated (or high potential for) teaching excellence in Human Resources/Organizational Behavior courses.
    3. Demonstrated (or high potential for) scholarship excellence as shown through publications and/or working papers in top-tier management journals.

    Evaluation of these requirements will be made through: (1) letter of application describing interest in KU, experience and distinctive accomplishments, (2) record of productivity in teaching and research as described in CV, (3) research statement and supplemental materials (e.g., 1-2 publications or works in progress), (4) teaching statement and supplemental materials (e.g., teaching portfolio, sample syllabi, teaching evaluations), and (5) three professional letters of reference.  Letters of reference should be submitted directly to bschoolmgmtadmin@ku.edu.

    APPOINTMENT: Full year appointments begin August 18, 2021.

    ADVERTISED SALARY RANGE:
