    The next virtual Early-Stage Research Professional Development session will take place 1:00pm CST on August 28 with mentors:

    April Franco, is an Associate Professor of Economic Analysis and Policy in the Department of Management at the University of Toronto-Scarborough, with a cross appointment to the Business Economics area at Rotman.  In 2020 she became the Chair of the Department of Management at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC). Her research focuses on the transfer, creation and use of knowledge within organizations; her work on spin-outs is considered ground-breaking. She has received several awards, including the Rector's Award for the most innovative paper from Aalborg University in 2011 and Roger Martin and Nancy Lang Award for Excellence in Research in 2010. April teaches undergraduate courses in Organizational Strategy, Economics of Management, Industrial Organization and MBA courses in Strategy.

    Denis A. Gregoire, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at HEC Montréal, where he also holds the Rogers-J.A.-Bombardier Chair of Entrepreneurship Research.  He currently serves as an Associate Editor for the Academy of Management Journal.  Prior to returning to HEC, Denis was a Faculty at Georgia State U. (Atlanta) and Syracuse U., where he was teaching MBA courses in strategy and entrepreneurship.  At HEC Montréal, he primarily teaches graduate courses in research methods and entrepreneurship.  In addition, he serves as Associate Director of the Creative Destruction Lab - Montreal (a seed-stage mentorship program for massively scalable, AI-focused companies) and as Academic Director for Next AI - Montréal's business courses.

    This monthly series is open to 15 early-stage researchers to connect with research mentors to discuss research approaches, professional development and the research career trajectory.
