If so, we invite your application to present your project and/or attend as an audience member at the second Extreme Context Research Brown Bag Session on September 30th at 6:30 AM PT / 9:30 AM ET / 3:30 PM CEST via zoom.
The Extreme Context Research community (https://organizingextremecontexts.org/) is large, active and highly experienced community of international researchers from a broad range of theoretical and methodological backgrounds. As a community, we look forward to providing a supportive and collaborative learning environment that supports early-stage researchers with their research projects.
This session is the second of several brown bag sessions offered by the Extreme Context Research community, providing new opportunities to meet, grow and learn together. The goal of this session is to provide early-stage researchers (PhD students and Postdocs) with the opportunity to receive support, ideas, and feedback. To enhance the learning experience for all of our attendees, we will ask those who apply to present to nominate 1-3 faculty that they would like us to invite to serve as a discussant for their project. Faculty from the ECR community will also be present during the session to help facilitate the conversation.
Timeline and Selection Process
- The last day to apply as a presenter and/or audience member is September 3rd, 2021.

- Selection decisions for presenters will be made on September 6th, 2021 and confirmation emails for all attendees will follow shortly after.
- If your project is selected for this session, you will be invited to give a short 5 minute presentation on your project during the session.
- Each presenter will then have 20 minutes to receive feedback from discussants and the rest of the group.
- Following the session, attendees will also be asked to complete feedback forms for you with additional ideas, thoughts and resources to support presented projects.
- The zoom session will be recorded and made available to attendees and individuals who are unable to attend due to schedule and time zone conflicts to broaden the reach of the session. The recording will only be available via a private link.
Participation in the session is free, but space is limited to a maximum of four presentations. We are committed to representing a diversity of projects, stages, applicants and topics, so if your project is not selected this time, we may contact you in the future for another session.
