Are you interested in learning how to provide a high-quality review? Are you curious as an author about the review process? "Reviewing in the Rough" is for you!

In the first part of the workshop, which is open to all, participants will have an opportunity to gain key insights about the review process and quality reviewing through engaging presentations from prior editors' (Maryam Kouchaki and Batia Wiesenfeld), and author's (Allison Gabriel) perspectives.

In the second part of the workshop, participants who complete their own reviews of a Journal of Applied Psychology original submission prior to the conference will receive feedback on these from experienced scholars in interactive small-group sessions, and learn exclusive background information about the original submission from the author herself, along with the actual reviews of his team's original submission and how they helped shape the final manuscript.

We are thrilled to have many outstanding scholars participating including (in alphabetical order): Melissa Cardon, Trevor Foulk, Cristiano Guarana, Emily Heaphy, Hana Johnson, Shal Khazanchi, Ravi Kudesia, Brittany Lambert, Elizabeth McClean, Christopher Myers, Frits Pil, Christian Resick, and Kristie Rogers.

    • Complete this Qualtrics survey and choose to attend both Part 1 and Part 2, to request a copy of the manuscript.
    • Once you receive the manuscript to review, complete a formal review (i.e., approximately two single-spaced pages) and send it to j.zhu@rsm.nl with the Subject line "RIR Review completed" before July 15th, 2023.
    • If accepted, we will send you a confirmation email with registration details. Please note that spots in Part 2 of the workshop will be allotted to the first 30 doctoral students and junior faculty members who submit completed reviews.
